Carol Choir Musical

Come see the Carol Choir Musical, Shortstops, on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 7:00  and Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 1:30  in the Mears Center. This is a fun musical about a kids' baseball team that learns important lessons about God's guidance in their lives. There will also be hot dogs, lemonade, and popcorn for sale both days.

Bible Sunday

The Second Graders will be receiving their Bibles on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at the 9:30  worship service. They have been working hard all year to earn these Bibles by memorizing Scripture.

Teach Summer Sunday School

Our elementary summer theme this year is Superbook Adventure and we are seeking those willing to spend a few weeks being hands-on laborers for Christ. There is no greater blessing than being able to share Jesus with our children. You will be on a team with others which will give you support and a flexible schedule, and we have subs to step in so you will still be able to take your vacation.

There will be training on June 8, 2008, right after the 11:00 am service. Sign up in the garden in May or call x259 or x262 to volunteer.

VBS

Vacation Bible School will soon be upon us and we want you to save the dates of 14–18 July 2008 for this special adventure. The program is just on week long, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. This one week can be, and often is, life-changing.

This year’s program is Rainforest Adventure: being Caretakers of God’s Creation. Children will learn about the importance of being good stewards of God’s world.

This thrilling quest will excite the kids as they encounter lively music, stimulating crafts and tasty foods. There will be a delicious potluck in the Mears Center on Thursday evening which will feature a children’s presentation of their week at VBS. As exciting as Thursday evening will be, that doesn’t mark the end of the party, because on Friday we will have water slides and a barbecue. Publicity and flyers will be out in May. The cost is $20 per child if you sign up by July 6th. After that date, the cost will be $25, so don’t wait.

Summer Camps

27 July to 2 August 2008

Indian Village: The Journey Continues… (grades 3 & 4)

Adventure Mountain: Once Upon a Time (grades 5 & 6)

Campers have the opportunity to explore God’s wonders in a unique environment that is completely different from life in the city. They will have a real mountain-top experience while in the ompany of friends and loving counselors. Kids currently attending FPCH will be registered first, starting on 6 April 2008 and going through the end of the month. Non-FPCH kids will then have an opportunity to register. All registration must be completed by 6 July 2008. All forms and money must be turned in by 13 July 2008, no exceptions. You can take $10 off your camp fee if you get all your money and forms in by 1 July 2008. You will recieve a letter at the end of March with all necessary camp info, including a registration form.

Scholarship information: if you have received a scholarship from Forest Home for the last two consecutive years, you will not be able to get one this year. We are sorry in advance to those families that this may impact, but we want you to know that we will do everything we can to make sure that any child who wants to go to camp, gets to go to camp.
