Ms.Fiona

Fiona McCulloch was born in Scotland, and moved to the U.S.A with her parents and her younger brother when she was in sixth grade. Her family moved quite frequently. She attended church growing up, but as her family moved often, they were never at one church for very long. Her parents now live in Kentucky, and her brother lives in New York City.

Ms.Fiona first came to Hollywood Presbyterian in October 2005, and she became a member in February 2006. the first service she attended, an announcement requesting volunteers to teach Sunday school. She started working in Hands on Time that very day. Ms.Fiona decided to start teaching Sunday school because she loves working with kids and loves the Lord and wants to serve him.

This is Ms.Fiona’s first year working with Kids of the Kingdom, and she teaches the sixth grade girls. She hopes that she will be able to impart unto the kids the importance of reading the Bible and praying, and that they will grow to love and serve the Lord.

Ms.Fiona is a great blessing to the KOK staff, and hopefully will continue to be one for a good time to come.

Ms.Knox

Andrea Knox has been at Hollywood Presbyterian since the age of two, when her family was invited to the church by Henrietta Mears in 1952. Her family was invited to the church so that her father could teacher Sunday school and his six children could be in the Sunday School program. Having grown up in the Sunday school departments, she came back to Hollywood Presbyterian in 1999 after living out of town to teach Sunday school. She started out teaching 6th grade girls, and then switched to teaching 5th grade girls the following year. And that is where she has been ever since.

Ms.Knox’s theology is that the Bible is 100% true, not just a book of fairy tales. She strongly believes that God has always kept his promises and will continue to keep his promises, and that if you accept Jesus, you will go to heaven. Because of this belief, she knows that she will see her parents again.

Ms.Knox also believes that teaching is a gift from God, and that the Bible clearly states that we need to use the gifts that God has given us. She believes that God has put her here for a reason. All of us who know Ms.Know know that she is fond of saying that she will be teaching Sunday school until they drag her out, that she will be here forever. She continues to carry on the tradition of teaching Sunday school that her father fostered, teaching Sunday school from 1952 until his death in the 1980s.

Ms.Knox has two children, David and Virginia. David and his wife Melanie help teach Sunday school, and Virginia and her husband live in Washington. Ms.Knox has “no grandchildren…yet.”

One thing is for sure, Ms.Knox is a blessing to this church and to all the children she teaches.
