In Green Eggs and Ham written by Dr. Suess, a story is found. It might be a simple story, but with the words of Dr. Suess a child can be amazed. The story is of a man, Sam-I-am that is trying to persude another man, a doubting Thomas, to eat green eggs and ham. Sam-I-am is steadfast and won’t give up. He tries to have the doubting Thomas to eat the green eggs and ham in a house, with a mouse, in a box, with a fox, with a goat, on a boat, and in a train. Finally, the doubter gives in and tastes the food and realizes that it is “so good, so good.”
This book was enjoyable to me because it had pictures that corespond to the story. The style of the authors writing is poetry, and it catches the eye of a child. It is easy to read and it does not have a broad vocabulary, so you don’t have to think that much about what you are reading. The storyline is humorous and will make you laugh. I really liked this book, and I would read it again.
Some would ask, “How does this relate to God?” And I think I have the answer. I believe that God will try to give us something that we don’t want. We might believe that what God wants isn't good for us, but when we finally give in, we will realize that it really is good. What God gives us is what he wants and what we really want, but we just don’t know it yet.
